Chapter 10

The days that followed were less glamourous. For one thing, Arwen woke up famished and hung over, and not for the first time. She knew the cure though: a heavy, greasy breakfast. Like her specialty, bacon grease & bacon bit waffles.

While the waffles were getting a tan in the oven, Arwen mused about last night. She was so drunk and excited, she never thought to ask Fiona how things went with the guy she flirted with. Hopefully that hadn’t offended Fiona…

She ate while glancing at her house and the evidence from her wild night with Fiona.

Screenshot-163 Screenshot-166That day grew hot and muggy, and Arwen was glad to have something light to wear while tending her garden.

After, she was sweaty and tired. Arwen decided to make today a lazy day and sunbathed, while the radio announcer warned the good people of Sunset Valley of the UV index.ย It’s gonna be aย scorcher, Valley boys and girls!

Screenshot-179Arwen daydreamed, fading in and out in the hot sunshine… She was disappointed that Hank still hadn’t gotten back to her. Eventually, she fell asleep and dreamed. The sun moved across her body, followed by shade.

It was evening when she awoke. The images of what she dreamt about still swimming around her mind, she decided she need to go out again.

She called Fiona and they agreed to have dinner together, but Arwen was too antsy and restless to wait any longer at home. She decided to visit the Summer Festival in Central Park again.

Screenshot-177Sunset Valley sure doesn’t have a shortage of cute guys…

Screenshot-178By the time Fiona arrived, it was pouring rain.

“Hey, Wen, how are you doing? I’m soooo hung over. Feels like my head’s gonna split into a million pieces…”

Screenshot-182“That’s what fast food’s for, Fi!” Arwen winked. “So, you never told me what happened with that beefcake at the bar yesterday?”

Screenshot-183“Oh! Well, I put my moves on him bigtime. But… turns out he was married. Happily married. And he held up his hands pushing me away as he said that, as if I needed more motivation to get away from him. I sure know how to pick’ em, huh?” She scoffed.

“You’ll find a keeper soon, I’m sure… Hey, wanna go eat? We’re getting drenched here.”

Fiona, always with a change of clothes in her car, it seemed, put on a different, dry outfit and ran with Arwen to the diner across the street.

Screenshot-184 Screenshot-185Thankfully, there was no lineup and they were seated right away.

Screenshot-186They talked about their love lives, or lack thereoff, which kinds of guys they liked and, conversely, which kind they seem to find. Arwen mentioned Hank and how he hadn’t called back.

“You say he’s a musician? You know they have crazy schedules, right? I wouldn’t give up so soon if I were you…” Fiona winked.

Days came and went, all with pretty much the same routine: tend garden, clean house, do laundry, cook, sleep, rinse and repeat. Bo-ring.

Screenshot-188On such a day, while doing laundry and wondering if such a mundane life was worth living, Arwen received a text….

… from Hank.

Sucks for Fiona that they guy she tried hitting on was married XD
*gasp* I wonder who the text is from :O

    • At least the handsome barfly was honest about it, lol ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m sure Fiona won’t be single for long… Btw, the text is from Hank. It’s not a spoiler; it’s at the end of the post ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I’m happy Arwen seems to be doing more or less fine, given the dismal place she lives in.

Oh, a text from Hank, I wonder what it’s about…

    • Yeah, I can’t wait to get comments on Hank. I’ve already written posts up to Halloween (IRL), and in-game I’m probably 3-4 posts further, so a lot of things are about to happen… Stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for your comments! ๐Ÿ™‚
