Chapter 4

Riding home, Arwen marveled at how close to the beach her house was… heck, anywhere in this small town. The sunset lit backlit her drive while her motorcycle beams carved the night in front of her.

It started to rain just as she arrived home so she ran indoors.

Once inside, she flicked the switch and the lights flickered on. The house was generally dimly lit, which suited it best. It looked worse in the cold hard light of day.

She made her way to the stairs, stealing a quick glance to a painting she had purchased at a yard sale for next to nothing. Just looking at it made her dream…

The bathroom was definitely the worse room in the house. She’d have to give it a good scrub tomorrow, but for now, close her eyes and try not to be too squeamish.

After brushing her teeth, she sat on her bed, looking at the room and thinking about everything she needed to get done to make the place cleaner and more homey. This would be expensive… *clang* What was that sound?

It sounded like the mailbox been shut closed. A little late for mail delivery… Arwen walked to the window and peered into the rainy night.

She hesitated. She could go outside to investigate… but it was so dark out there. She returned to the bed and lied on her back, trying to decide what to do and waiting for more sounds. After a few hours, she fell asleep.

  1. Creepy sounds outside of her already creepy home? >_< eeekk
Even though her home is still gross and needs some fixing up, I'm still happy she has a roof over her head.

    • Glad you found the post creepy, it was fully intentional 😉 I really appreciate everyone taking the time to comment. It makes this experience so much more fun 🙂
